Hatching

Oh, it looks so simple - just point and click return...

Why doesn't it work for me?

Command: _bhatch
Select objects or [picK internal point/remove Boundaries]:1 found
Select objects or [picK internal point/remove Boundaries]:
<Hit enter or right-click to return to the dialog>
Select objects or [picK internal point/remove Boundaries]:1 found
Select objects or [picK internal point/remove Boundaries]:
Unable to hatch the boundary.

Have got a pathway, that I want to hatch, to show as one continual material (tarmac), even though it goes up and down steps, on slopes etc. I've drawn a polyline around the area and this is what I am trying to hatch. Used 'close' command, so shouldn't have any holes in the polyline join.

2D or 3D?  elevation is same for entire polyline?

2D and no topography - haven't got that far yet!

it's just plan view of a garden.

I've checked in Paperview, but it doesn't appear in there either...

You may have to pick the origin of the hatch manually

Yes, pick a point inside of it instead of the pline. Also expand the hatch dialog box and check the Island detection settings.

Taking your advice yesterday,
a) I reduced the area to hatch
b) drew a polyline and ended with 'close' command
c) went through the hatch panel
d) clicked on an internal point
e) it hatched!

but it hatched like this (see attachment) and then when I went back into edit the hatch, to make the lines closer together, the whole lot disappeared (!) and as you can see below 'unable to update hatch'...

here is some stuff copied from the command bar:
Command: _bhatch
Select objects or [picK internal point/remove Boundaries]:Specify opposite

Any help would be great, but if I have found a bug, I going to have to abandon doing hatching in this drawing...

I am using AutoCAD Electrical 2011 Version 2.1

I am also facing similar kind of problem. Hatch is not picking the boundaries or pick points.

also no hatch formations occur.

below are lines from comand line

Command: h

HATCH

Pick internal point or [Select objects/seTtings]: Selecting everything...Selecting everything visible...Analyzing the selected data...
