Grips de-select when panned off the screen!

When moving objects using the grips, cycling through the commands >stretch>move>rotate etc. etc. I select a group of objects any objects and move them everything will work fine if my grips stay in view, if I need to transparent pan the ones that dissappear off the screen deselect, or in another words the grip dissappears and they aren't moved. Can anybody help with this?

I can't replicate this problem. What are the exact steps to recreate this?

An AutoCAD feature: if you use GRIPS to copy an entity (you
know it does more than one copy), and the original entity is panned off screen,
the first copy after that often happens, but you get no more.

Well documented since R2000 as a flaw in Cadalyst magazine I
believe, back when they used to keep track of bugs in AutoCAD (which was really
helpful for us daily users).

Kevin, What I am doing is say you have two lines one you can see on the screen one you can't. I want to move both of them at the same time. I select the visible one by single clicking on it. I either use the wheel on my Intelli Mouse or issue an 'p (transparent pan. When I pan over to the second line the first dissapears from view and I select the second line by single clicking on it, I select a grip and then hit the space bar to cycle to the move command then pick a new location for the lines. Sometimes only the second line moves. This happens off and on in different drawings. Hope that was clear. Thanks Jeremy

That sounds like something I have encountered, but this is different from that. I used grips since R14, and this is a new problem for me.
Here's a tip: I'm sure you knew you could make a copy of an item by using grips to move, but hold the shift key down while doing it. I use this to create multiple copies at even spaced intervals. Keep up the good work!!

What version of acad do you have? I'm using 2000i (mechanical with the
latest SP) and don't have this problem when using the Panning feature of the
mouse. I do have this problem when invoking pan via 'pan. However, AutoCAD
has always cleared the grips when using a transparent pan or zoom (at least
back in R12 days, I didn't get to use R14 enough).

I'm using Map2000i. Actually I need to try it using the 'p command, I think I usually use the wheel pan and zoom since it is always transparent. This problem is hard to duplicate, I'll spend more time on monday after I get these plans plotted!! Have a good weekend.
