Express Tools

Does anyone know if AutoDesk Map 5.0 comes with the express tools found in
AutoCAD 2002? We recently installed (full install) map 5.0 and there is no
Express tools directory. I can also find no express tools menus etc...
Anyone know what the deal is? I was under the assumption that AutoDesk Map
5.0 was EXACTLY like Acad2002 with the additional map features.

Hello Rob.

The short answer...
No, none of the 2002 series of products include the Express Tools.

If you have E.T. from AutoCAD 2000/2000i release, these will work on 2002.
There are many threads and a few tech docs on this. Just do some searching
through the N/Gs.

Hi Warren,

Thanx for the quick response. In addition to Map 5.0 we have purchased
several licenses of 2002, I assume the 2002 E.T. will work in Map 5.0 as
well? If this is the case, then I will definitely do some research to
figure this out, otherwise, I am going back to vanilla 2002.

You need to run menuload command, then go to the express directory from you previous version(should still be there if you upgraded) and add the express menu (acetmain.mns). That should do it for you.

I think you can find the express tools when you use the installation CD. I think it was one of the items listed when you go through the install procedure.
