Export a GEOMAP image?

Thanks for taking a look at this post.

I have a file that includes an aerial image I generated with the GEOMAP command. I ned tot share this file and the aerial with a contractor who does not have Autocad 2015. I tried using the eTransmit so I'd get everything in the file but the aerial did not export. Is there a way to either embed the aerail in the file or export it seperately?

Thanks

Toney

Have you tried to plot to PDF with the DWGToPDF .pc3?

I can plot a pdf but doesn't that lose all the georeferencing? I guess I
could draw a rectangle from corner to corner on the captured geomap image.
Then plot a pdf of the image and let the contractor use the rectangle to
align the image. But I was hoping for something a little less Rube Goldberg
like.

Another old-school technique:

  1. in the Plotter Manager install the "TIFF Uncompressed" virtual printer
  2. plot to it in high resolution
  3. import the brand new TIFF file
  4. command _ALIGN to calibrate it in the actual drawing
  5. finally you can georeference the aligned TIFF by means of this jewel

I did the same.

- Plot the GEOMAP image to a high-res TIF or PNG at the same shape as the clipped GEOMAP image. I usually clip a square GEOMAP image.

- Set the virtual printer to an image size of 5000x5000 or higher if needed.

- Plot the GEOMAP image and save the new image file to the project folder.

- Reference the new image.

- Position and scale the new image over the clipped GEOMAP image to get it geo-referenced.

- Delete the clipped GEOMAP image.

I hope this helps.
