This is my first post and I'm Very New to AutoCAD
I'm an engineer and need to turn an AutoCAD drawing into an excel
spreadsheet
what I need is to lift the Co-Ords from the centre of Circles and turn them
into a spreadsheet which looks like this
P10 2064.800 2001.050
P11
2065.700 1999.475
P12 2063.900 1999.475
P13 2072.000 2001.050
P14
2072.900 1999.475
P15 2071.100 1999.475
Where P15 is the Name of the point and the first Co-Ord is Easting and the
Second the Northing
need to do about 5000of these so doing them by hand is tiring and
dangerous as i'm bound to miss type one
It would also be hand to do the same but the other way around, so i can
constuct an Asbuilt drawing from an excel spreadsheet
Thanks in advance I hope someone can help
I can Email copies of drawings or Spreadsheets if need be

Neil hi,
Autodesk Map can do this quiet easily. I don't
know if you have this program, but you can send me your file and I will send
you back an ASCII text file which you can import into Excel.
Try sending a small dwg (Only the needed
objects).

Hi George,
To make a long story short:
1- Open a new, empty drawing and attach your file
to it.
2- Define a query that will return only the
wanted objects (Use any of the criteria you need: Layer, object type,
location, data ...).
3- Execute the query in Report mode and define in
the report the information you want (X, Y, Z, Block name, Size, scale,
attribute ...).
4- Open your report file (An ASCII text file)
with your favorite editor/spreadsheet and complete your report (Statistics,
Formating ...).
Good luck,
Arad

Can you please elaborate a little more.
