Engineering Templates?

Hi, Im wondering if there are standard Engineering templates that can be downloaded or purchased, or if the only option is to set up the templates myself, if so what resources are available to help me do that?

Related, I would be interested to know if a standard layer naming convention was established as a template for GIS engineering. I would expect that layers are part of the template.

I've not heard of any such thing on the GIS side. With GIS's focus being on
data handling, it wouldn't seem to be a good candidate for an industry wide
standard, in my opinion. (Don't take my word for that, of course.....maybe
post that question in the Map forum.)

AIA did a civil standard, having the flaws you would expect. It can be
purchased from the AIA. It seems to be gaining acceptance, though,
certainly not industry wide. Some are using it, most likely are not.
