DWT template settings

Hi all,

I have created several dwt's that are used fairly extensively in my organization.  They are just the standard setups; 8.5 x 11 or 11 x 17 or 24 x 36 sheets with title blocks.  What I was wondering is how to set up standard templates for things like multileader and dimension styles.  If I create the styles in the dwt, and then save the it, would any person to use the dwt afterword have those styles available?  Or is this something a bit more complicated like having everyone point to the same "acad.lin" file so that we all have the same linetypes?

Thanks!

Styles are saved in the drawing (dwt) as long as you do not use any custom line types you should be OK. If you do have custom line types for layers or anything then yes the users need to have acces to the lin file you used. If you are on a network and do use custom files then make sure those files are on a shared drive/folder then set that folder as one of the soupprt files in the options.

Hi Murph,

Thanks for the info.  We are on a network and a number of things are out there for everyone to use (the line styles, plot styles, etc.).  I just wasn't too sure on the multileader and dimension styles.  I was getting tired of re-creating the same styles in every new drawing!

You can also use the Design Center and drag the styles from one dwg into another. But yes having them in your dwt is the best way to go and make sure you make a backup of those dwt and save them someplace that will not get deleted or overwritten.
