As I understand it... there is a feature in Civil 3d where a user can 'Check-Out' down to the object level certain entities for editing. When this happens a DWK file created.
Does Civil 3d or its MAP... use DWK anymore... does it still have this Checking Out objects creating a DWK file?
When was the last time it was used?

Hi,
>> Does Civil 3d or its MAP... use DWK anymore
Yes, it does, whenever you have attached a drawing via the Map 3D function _ADEDRAWINGS and you do some _ADEQUERY requests.

Is this DWK the case for AutoCAD MAP 3d (Civil 3d) 2015 product line?
I am a little confused here... is AutoCAD MAP and Civil 3d one and the same software?
Hi,

No, it's not the same, but Map 3D (without Industry Models) is included within Civil 3D. So most of the Map 3D functionality is also available in Civil 3D.
Or with other words: Civil 3D extents the Map 3D functionality with the aibility to design surfaces, do road design and some other civil engineering tasks.
