Changing text from specific color to "by layer" en masse?

I am importing DOT drawings from Microstation, and as part of this much of the text is assigned a specific color within the text box (ie: you can double-click the text to edit, highlight the text, and change from "Red" to "by layer"). This is extremely tedious to change each and every piece of text to "by layer" so I can better control colors throughout the drawings.

Is there a command similar to "SETBYLAYER" that works for text as well? SETBYLAYER has really helped me with a similar block problem, but I am still manually changing text.

Thanks,

Matt

Use Quick Select
Object type = Text
Property = Color
Operator = Not Equal to
Value = ByLayer

Then change it all in the property palette.

Thanks for the quick response and tip on quick-select. I haven't taken advantage of that function yet! However, when I select the text in question (actually MTEXT as I dig deeper, if it matters) the properties palette is showing "by layer" in the Color field under the general heading, and I don't see any other color field to change. If you double-click the text itself a "Text Formatting" palette opens, and there is a color there that is set specifically to "Red."

Am I just not looking in the right place on the properties palette?

We have had trouble with microstation mtext in the past - for us it would
not recognize the bylayer lineweight. It was necessary to select all mtext
objects and explode - making them text objects. After that they displayed /
plotted with the bylayer lineweight. I just checked colors and they worked
correctly, but maybe the data came from a different version of microstation.
