Cannot install Autodesk® Publish DWG to Google Earth™ Extension

I am trying to install the above extension on a PC running Autocad Map 3D 2012 and each time I get teh following message at install time.

Install Autocad 2012 First.

The extension supports Autocad Map 3D 2012 so i do not see why it will not install.

Would there be other prerequirstes that are needed?
