CAD to GIS standards ...

I have been given the job to write CAD to GIS standards i.e. coordinate system and version of CAD to submit the drawing in, layer requirements, etc.  Has anyone written such a document or know of guidelines I can find to follow - I hate to reinvent the wheel.

Standards that a CAD operator needs to follow so that a GIS operator can bring the drawing into ArcGIS with little or no effort/editing - layer requirements, model space vs paper space etc.
