Autodesk MAP 3D and PostGIS

Hello,

I need to connect Autodesk MAP 3D to PostGIS as it does with several other GIS Database engines (Oracle, ArcSDE, MySQL, etc). I know that Map 3D 2007 didn't allow it.

PostGIS is OGC SFS compliant, like Oracle 10g, so why doesn't MAP connect to it as Standard specification?

Is it possible now with 2008 version?

thanks
Ricardo Pinho

PS.
By the way, it would be also nice to connect to a data source using standard OGC WFS transactional specification.
Please help us, users, to adopt and use the standards. We need it!

IIRC you can connect to a postGIS server if you just add the open source OGR FDO provider. I haven't tried to connect to a PostGIS server because I don't have access to any.
