Autodesk CAD and GIS data structures

Hi,

I am looking to understand the Autodesk CAD and GIS data structure to better facilitate the integration between CAD and GIS systems in an engineering office workflow environment. Any leads for books, articles, etc., would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

I am currently writing a class for ArcGIS that will cover how to migrate CAD
data into ArcGIS formats. It has a section that will briefly explain some of
the different formats including DWG, DXF, Shapefiles, Coverages,
Geodatabases and more. Once I have completed the class, it will be offered
both as an Instructor Led as well as a virtual class. It might be a good
place to start. I will also be writing one the covers how to use GIS data in
CAD.

Thanks, Tripp.
I would appreciate a heads up on the mailing list closer to when the class will be offered.
Being an ecological planner and landscape architect I am an avid user of both technologies and most of the time it is not very easy to integrate the two. If anyone else thinks otherwise I would be interested in further discussions and in exploring methods for this.

Thanks

I'd like to know about the class too (dates, etc.). I have the same situation with CAD and ArcGIS. The person who was doing the ArcGIS has resigned....

Thanks
