64bit map3d fatal error when create polygon

Hi

I have a computer newly installed windows7 64bit,and installed map 3d 2012.with SP. when I was trying to create polygon with command "MPOLYGON" or "MAPLOLYLINETOPOLYGON",MAP3D crashed.it does not matter if the polygons have holes or not,the polygon can be created, but after 2 seconds or when I RIGHT CLICK to see quick menu,CAD crashed immidiately.

I rremembered that there were topics discussing same issue, but I could not find them now.

Can anyone help?

Thanks.

H

Today,I found this:

http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/AutoCAD-Civil-3D/MPolygon-select-caushes-crash-fatal-error/td-p/291836...

which addressed the same issue with civil 3D and Map 3D.It looks the Civil 3D proplem solved whith a SP but not the Map 3D 2011 .

I tried change graphic driver to certified version.

turn off rollover tooltips and property ,quick property.no good.

and tried the suggestion on:

http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=18818398&linkID=9240617

no luck.

polygonn can be selected, edited, but can not see the property window.

CAD will crash when I right click with a polygon selected.

Is it a known issue for 64bit Map3D 2012?

Will this be fixed in future?

Thanks,

Hua

I have the same issue, I can't ever open a drawing containing mpolygons.  I've put a request in with Autodesk support.  I will let you know if I they have a solution.

I have found some tricks to keep ACAD running:

1.undefine " properties "command,so the properties window will never show up.

2.disable right click short cut menu,in "options"

3.close selection cycling and quick property

4.do not use "quick select" tool.

5.use "list" to check properties.

6.use "adeeditdata" to check and edit  object data.

so far ,these work.

You can create a profile which is set up as above. Then lunch AUTOCAD  using the profile.

Let me know if it works.

If  I set up a profile, will these settings only take place for this profile?  To do this do I log in as the new user and make the changes?  After which if I start Map without logging in, will Map default to normal?

Thanks,

Could you list how to create these changes for a single profile.

Thank you,

Sorry I am not fimilar with the log in issue, cause I am the only user in my section.

to create a profile :

1.write a LISP  to undefine "properties." Add this LISP to AUTOcad auto load LISP list.

2.start AutoCAD,then you will not have the "properties" command.

3.disable right click short cut menu,in "options","user preferance" "windows standard behavior" uncheck "short menus in drawing area".

4.close selection cycling and quick property

5.export current profile as *.arg.

6.

to start Autocad with a profile:

In the AutoCAD short cut icon,Properties dialog box, click the Shortcut tab, and in the Target text box enter /p at the end of the name and path of the profile (filename.arg) that you want AutoCAD to use when it starts.
"C:\Program Files\AutoCAD 2000\acad.exe" /p "C:\Program Files\ AutoCAD 2000\FILENAME.arg"

hope it helps.

I did a complete uninstall, and reinstalled Map.  This problem hasn't happened since I reinstalled Map.
