add attribute table to any layer.

I am new autocad and want to develop a plugin in vb.net. It should display the table format data for the layer.

I want to add data in table format to any line or point layer. Like the layer can contain more details like name, id etc. It can be a excel file or a dbf file. how can it be created with a vb.net autocad plugin .  Please suggest .
