Map 3D 2012 S P 2 and OSGeo.MapGuide.PlatformBase version conflict

If you have applied AutoCAD Map 3D 2012 Service Pack 2, you might see OSGeo.MapGuide.PlatformBase version conflict error (like the one copied below) while trying to compile VB.NET projects where in you have reference to OSGeo.*.dll assemblies.

The project currently contains references to more than one version of OSGeo.MapGuide.PlatformBase, a direct reference to version 2.3.0.5080 and an indirect reference (through 'Autodesk.Gis.Map.Platform.Interop.AcMapFeatureEntityService') to version 2.3.0.5086. Change the direct reference to use version 2.3.0.5086 (or higher) of OSGeo.MapGuide.PlatformBase.

We have identified the issue and released a hot fix for the same. This hotfix is available at http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=20044797&linkID=9240858

OSGeo hotfix is also available from Map 3D 2012 SP2 page.

Hi Partha,

does >>>Update 2<<< for Civil3D 2012 have the same problem?

If so ==> the readme for the hotfix you mentioned says "should be applied to Map3D" (and not Civil3D).

I think the Map 3D component in Civil 3D would show similar behavior (though I haven't tested this).

Yes, the readme for the hotfix "should be applied to Map3D", but the process of fixing it for Civil 3D 2012 will be similar.

Detailed steps to replace / update the assemblies are discussed in the following blog post –
