Closing FDO connection through code while layer is loaded in Map

If I load some layers through MAPWSPACE in AutoCAD Map and with code I open that existing connection and close with FDO, is this I good practice to do or not?

I noticed if I do that and than click on that layer in Task Panel (mapwspace), autocad do something (mouse change shape to "I am doing something in background")
