I don't find the express tools with the ABS2004 CD's, where can I get them.

I looked at a vanilla 2004 install disk, the Express Tools are under Step 5,
Install Supplemental Tools.
In ABS2004 step 5, there is ONLY Hewlett-Packard DesignJet Printer Drivers.
Autodesk, you forgot to put them on the ABS disk.

I used a 30 day demo disk of plain 2004 to install the ET on my setup, so I
am glad that that worked for me.

This came up in the ADT group, perhaps the procedure is the same. Please let
me know ...

For installing Express Tools on ADT 2004: Using Windows Explorer,
put the CD in, and turn off the install
program if it launches (holding the control key down while putting in
the cd should prevent "autorun"). Navigate in explorer to the
Adt\Support\Express folder and run the setup file. The readme file
explains this under Installation Issues.

Thanks, I did open the readme and search for express, but perhaps I missed
it. I will look tomorrow.

Why such a convoluted method for the verticals when it was so obvious for
the vanilla?

As Chip indicated this is covered in the readme.

Many of the features of the express tools don't work as "expected" with ADT
and ABS.

Please read the readme file in the express tools folder of the ABS CD, as it
covers many of the known issues regarding the express tools and ABS and ADT.

The main Buildings Systems readme should explain where you can install
Express Tools from, and it will also call attention to a specific readme
regarding compatibility issues you should be aware of when using Express
Tools in an ADT/ABS environment. Due to several issues, we felt it would be
a bit misleading to advertise them in such an upfront manner in the main
front-end installer.

Ok, I found the instructions. From the Installation page > Documentation >
Readme(.hlp) > Autodesk Arch. Desktop 2004 readme > Installation Issues.

If you use the help topics > find > express, the information will be found
for you also, again under the ADT readme.

Since this is the ABS install I assumed the information I would need would
be under ABS. I am new to the vertical products so I am in a steep learning
curve.

The documentation should, perhaps, reference ADT/ABS rather than just ADT
when speaking of known issues. A small point I know.

Just for my clarification ... was the path on the ABS CDROM,
"Adt\Support\Express", the correct location or is it "ABS\Support\Express"?
