I need to add a variety of louvers in wall openings that have been provided by the Architect (AD2004). I see I only have one choice (24"X24"). I have tried to make changes to the height and width factors but the louver never changes from a 24"x24"....How do I add sizes to this list?
PLEASE HELP ME ASAP.......PLEASE!
Thank you,
Aaron

Good luck buddy! For $5,000 that's all you get, 1 selection. You have to do the rest on your own. I spent 2.5 days trying to modify one to another size, finally gave up. I've been saying this all along, this software is not of much use without a good library or one you can easily add to. Autodesk will probably offer an expanded library CD at an additional cost of $1,000 or so. Get your checkbook ready.

Aaron,
Were you able to modify and recreate various sized louvers based on Hakan response. Yeh, once you have the resized block it's easy to recreate the MvPart. It's modifying the block that is the difficult part. I tried to modify a sidewall supply grille, the thing had 50-60 pieces in it, which made it very difficult to resize.
Let me know if you had any luck.

The directions given by Hakan did not work, and if they did, I'd have to say that would be a pain to have to create even a half dozen sizes of louvers. Haken, would please follow your own directions and see if maybe you forgot a step or two. Please let me know! Aaron

Hi Aaron
I'll try to give you a such a detailed procedure as
possible (hence the text mass) faster procedure when you get the hang of
it.

it.
To add sizes to the list, the first thing you will
have to do is to go into the Louver dwg and create the modelblocks for your new
sizes:

The easiest way to do this is usually to insert the
existing model block and modify this (I tried this on the Extruded one so my
example derives from that one)

I tried to create a 12x12 one
1. First insert the Extruded Louver Model (in
0,0), use "scale" on it 0,0 0.5, then explode the block and then create a
new block named 12x12 Extruded Louver Model and save and exited the
dwg.

2. Now start the contentbuilder navigate down to
Extruded Louver in Mechanical and push the add part size button.

3. Check type and Subtype (should be ok) - next -
add partsize (Small button below scrollbar) - a dropdown should appear choose
our new block 12x12..... and click somwhere else.

Now the other views should be filled but
some of them should be colored red (not created yet) You could if you
wanted to create all theese views separetly in the dwg but we will create
them automatically. You can also define a symbolblock if you want
too.
