    Cursor jerks when using MEP2010

When using MEP2010, especially when dynamic input, quick properties, and object snap tracking the cursor will jerk and is delayed making a connection or snaping to a point.  The cursor will also have a hard time finding a location to snap to on an object.  It jumps around a lot.  There is also a slight delay with every command.  This does not happen when I am using the AutoCad profile only with MEP.

The cursor behavior is similar on my machine, through 2010 and now 2012. You've pretty much nailed it to identify the culprits. The machine is looking for a lot of information with Dynamic input, Running Osnap (depending how many osnaps are set) and quick properties. I have had to turn the functions off that I'm not using to get a smooth cursor response, especially quick properties and running osnap. For osnap I use the control key and keyboard to identify the osnap I want without turning on running osnap. If someone has a better workaround, let us know.

Thanks.  I was afraid it was going to be something like that.  I was considering updating to 2012 in hopes that some of the problems with MEP would be solved, but apparantly not.  I think I will save the money.

I had this problem with a brand new laptop that I had just purchased last year.  There was a considerable delay with the onscreen inputs and between typing a command and then actually have that command execute.  I had just bought one of the HP Elitebooks and it turns out that it ended up being a conflict with some of their installed software and Autocad MEP.  I ended up having to go into services and into the bios and turn off the fingerprint reader software.  Once this was disabled, MEP starting working like a champ.  I am not sure if this is the same problem you are having but the symptoms are definately the same.

Thanks for the info.  I have an HP Elite and have increased the memory to 20 meg.  I will try what you said.

I also have an HP Elitebook and disabling the fingerprint was the first thing I did. The issue of cursor jumping is a little different but performance definetly increases by uninstalling fingerprint. I talked to HP support who walked me through disabling it.
