please go back to softdesk 8 and pull out the section cutting tool. when working in 3d, the ability to cut a section to clear up a view to work on certain areas is invaluable. dview takes too many steps which means too much time.

You can cut a section to work in 3D using the isolation tools.
First select the objects then right click, then go isolate objects.
You can isolate in section, elevation, plan, or just isolate objects and this will allow you to work in 3d on the objects selected.
