i work for small HVAC contracter and i am estimater, project manager and BIM modeler. we have had a lot of BIM projects lately so the company is finally realizing the importance of BIM. i have negotiated a few projects with other local contracters to just do their BIM and the money coming in. i currently have the autodesk ultimate package so i think i pretty much have all the software i need, but i have not really been trained on this software just use the help menu a lot. the owner of the company came to me and asked if their was any other sofware i could use. i was hoping someone out there has any software ideas that might work in the same trade as me (sheet metal). i asked for training but they said they didnt want to send me out of town for a week. 😞
thank you in advance

I don't work in HVAC, rather electrical, but I know many HVAC contractors use CAD MEP (now owned by Autodesk) for HVAC MEP and detailing.
Yep, Autodesk has Fabrication software like FabMEP, CADMEP, estMEP or CAMmep. If you have AutoCAD MEP, I suggest cadMEP as an add-on. Your local reseller will have training. They may be able to train you without taking you away for a week. There are also many videos up on YouTube and books.

There are several software packages out there that work with Autocad MEP objects so the training curve will be very minimal if you already know how to use Autocad MEP. They are also worth checking out.
