is there a place where we can all submit 3d Mvparts that we create? -- If not... can we make such a place and is anyone else even interested in this? -- I know that a common complaint made by myself as well as those who post here most frequently is a lack of 3D content in the form of Mvparts. Maybe if we all start submitting our standard non proprietary Mvparts to a central location it would help to make other's jobs easier. I know we all wish that Autodesk would just give it all to us, but they didn't and the way i see it... why is any of us reinventing the wheel... we're all in the same boat... we all need these mvparts. -- What about you autodesk? will you give us a location to put these ABS specific Mvparts if anyone is even interested in this? -- Those of you who have done this for a while, would you be willing to submit Mvparts? -- Am I insane for wanting this and or suggesting it? I'd be willing to spend two hours a week creating some new part to donate to the cause and would even take requests... that's 52 parts a year just from me... that's what I have to offer.

Hi Bil -

We've talked about this a number of times, but as of yet haven't been able
to accomplish anything :-(.

That said, I'd be willing to try and put something together on my home
machine to host these parts. It won't be anything fancy, and won't be
extremely fast, but at least it would be a place to put stuff. Also if we
ever get a "user content upload" site finished, we could use what has been
posted as "seed" content.

If you're interested please lemme know.

who are the "we" in your reply? Autodesk, or the folks who post here frequently? -- Of course I'm interested in anything that resembles what I've discussed in the above post. -- I'm no expert with ABS... only been using it since mid May or early June... but I'm pretty handy with creating 3D parts and upon grasping the best methods to create a useful Mvpart or Library or whatever... I'm sure that I could whip out some useful parts each week. -- but none of this matters until the rest of the folks weigh in with their thoughts -- if no one else sees a need for this then I'm just wasting time... hopefully the others will be on board... I'll check back tomorrow on this post and see if anyone showed interest... then maybe we should chat more about it. -- thanks Jason.

If there is enough interest, we may be able to get
a newsgroup for ABS that is similar to the arch-desktop.content but specifically
for ABS.

Cheers,

Julian

I would be very intrested in this newsgroup, although I won't be able to contribute as much as bil-with-one-L I do have some already made MVparts made.

Hey Guys,

I'm currently a AutoDesk Revit, one of
many anticipating the eventual integration of Building Mechanical
Systems features into the Revit Building Information Modeling system. I
think it's great to see users freely exchanging custom content, which has
become a characteristic of the Revit user community. I'm surprised there's
not a Adesk BMS "customer files" newsgroup.

As a resource all have access to
AUGI - the AutoDesk User Group International - at

href="http://www.augi.com">
face="Century Gothic">www.augi.com
. The
site includes AUGI Exchange, where users can submit files and other info to a
searchable database. maybe this would be the place to get
started.
