Wire connection colours

Is there a way to have one colour on the wire and another colour on the wire connection, not using a block?

One way to do it is to right click on the thing you want to change colour on, then select edit object display, double click on general and then change the colour on the linework. I use this if I want a few lineworks to stand out. I.e. when I want a "fat" wire.
