The hide command (3D Modelling)

I'm drawing 3D piping and use the "hide command" very often to get a true representation of the model but very often parts are left out. Elbows, length of pipe for example. Idealy I would like to use the hide command, in viewports for the final printable drawing. P.S. There are no solid objects in front of the pipes I'm talking about.

Is there a setting that might correct this?
