Piping rises

There may have already been a post about this, but I couldn't find it. When trying to draw a riser using the piping system, we always seem to end up with a drop. The procedure is simple, draw a pipe horizontally, at the end where you want to rise up, change the elevation (something large enough to accommodate the elbow up), and end the command. I should note that this is for single line piping. Instead of ending with a complete empty circle indicating a rise, I end up with a broken circle with the pipe running to the center indicating a drop.

Is this yet another glitch that we have to work around or am I totally missing something?

Hi Steve -

 

Rise/Drops in duct are controlled by flow direction
in ABS.  There are three directions you can set the flow - left, right, or
bidirectional.  The ductadd commands defaults to bidirectional - the app
defaults to applying drops for bidirectional flow. Set the flow in the duct to
change a rise to a drop or vice-versa.

 

Remember that the rise drop styles are set in
the system definition.  If you have no styles in your drawing,
the app automatically uses standard 
 
size=2>which approximates a supply system.  You can make new rise/drop
styles using style manager.
