I am trying to create an FCU with hatch but the hatching does not follow the unit outline instead it only creates a rectangular hatch (please see attached). Any help will be much appreciated.

What version are you using? I thought that perhaps this may be due to performance reasons, however, I tried a variety of 'complex' MvParts (i.e., "380-500 Ton Two-Stage Absorption Chiller") and they all hatched as expected in 2010-2012.
Can you upload the part in question?
Thanks for the reply.
Please see attached 2 options I made and these was all created using block-based and the display properties is 2-line. I am using MEP 2012.
I meant the actual .dwg file... I can't troubleshoot a .bmp
Looks like you need to define the Region(s) in the top view block... see attached.
Does the hatch automatically updated when you created a region on the top view block?
I tried it but still doesnt work ( not really sure how you did it).
You probably need to force an update with OBJRELUPDATE for existing instances of the Part... new ones should hatch properly.

Unfortunately it does work smoothly on my system as you did. I have to close and open my drawing then do the command before it finally regenerate.
The model now looks fine but if you can trim the 3 nos. triangular hatch on the tip of the pipework would be great.
I suspect those trianges is because it is expecting a closed geometry, and it doesn't know what to do with the lines that extend out of the pipe connections. Shortening those lines should do the trick:

If possible I would prefer to maintain those extended lines but if there is no other solution then thats ok.
