Mech-Piping: How do I Change properites on an entire run

I've created entire runs of piping using schedule 40/galvanized steel/flanged. So, now I want to change all the runs to schedule 80/carbon steel/butt welded.

I know I can change it per fitting or pipe segment, but I'm not getting the option to transistion the entire branch/run.

Is there a way I can globally change the material on all my runs with out relying on modifing an individual pipe/fitting and hoping the change occurs on down the line?

There is no way to do this with the actual
material.  If you are using the Pipe Style for your material
list, you can go into the style manager and change the description under the
general tab.  BUT BE WARNED, this will change the
style for that item in the total dwg, even if you later
add the same part.  We have used this method to get a
correct material list but if you need it for layout purposes, it can't be done
without substituting everything.  I guess if you are a programmer, some
type of program could be written to do this sort of thing, but Autodesk doesn't
have it in the product at this time.
