MEP Elbows On Wrong Layers

Has anyone else seen this? In MEP when working on a plumbing line, any elbow fitting comes in on the wrong layer. All other pipes and fittings come in correctly, but the elbows seem to come in on whatever layer is set current instead of the systems predefined layer. And the property of said elbow (lineweight, color, linetype, etc.) can not be altered without exploding the part, which then causes a variety of other issues in the pipe system. Any thoughts? Attached image is a quick look at what is happening. Thanks!

Take a look at your Display Manager.

Go to the Manage Tab -> Display Manager. In the left side, you should see a list of currently opened files, expand the file you are working in. Go to "Representations by Object" and scroll down to Plumbing Fitting. Expand that and a default AMEP template will only have "General" listed. Select this. Notice the colors of all display components (on the right side) are set to BY BLOCK. Change this to BYLAYER.

Does that solve the issue?

It worked for just about everything. It didn't same to do any good for elbows that are drawn on our Existing systems, but anything new proposed works wonderfully.
