FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation

The whole error is as follows.

FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x7467 Exception at 78303c5bh

This happens even when I'm not doing anything. I opened a drawing and got called away from my desk and came back to this error. It's really annoying and has only happened since we upgraded to 2009. 2009 also seems to run very slow. Even doing simple tasks like opening a drawing or switching between them or even plotting is very very slow. Is there any reason for it? Message was edited by: leickel67

I get the same error when I leave 2004 open all night.

Go into 3dconfig and select manual tune. Then enable hardware Acceleration. You do Have an Open GL video card right? At least enable Direct 3D.

2009 Really requires Hardware Acceleration.

This helped so far with the Fatal Errors, but it's still extremely slow.

I had the same problem until I changed operating systems. I bought a second hard drive and installed XP Pro 64 and then installed the 64 bit software on it. I am running 4 GB of RAM and it made all the difference.
