Cut Dynamic Sections While drafting

What is the best way to cut a dynamic section while drafting a mechanical room, for example. I would like to cut a section looking at a chiller and cut out all of the other equipment and pipes that are behind the chiller, as an example. I used the wonderful and easy working section command in Softdesk 8 for so many years. It was like the DView command on steroids. I find the DView command cumbersome and the 3DOrbit command hard to deal with. Thanks for any suggestions anyone can give me.

you can use the 2D section tool for quick looks at a slice of what you
are wanting to look at
Documentation>Section>Add section line
adjust the bounding box of the section line with grips, then then right
click on the section line and generate a section - use the 2D option

another way to do this is to use the camera tool - it replaces many of
the Dview's archaic commands
documentation>Perspectives>Add camera
select the camera, Right click> adjust view - is the button interface to
"walk the camera" to what you want to see, and then use the dview clip
front and back to eleminate - You are still using Dview to do the clip,
but don't have to deal with the other aspects of it
