Change the color of pipe/conduit without changing the layer

Hello:

When drawing pipe or conduit using MEP can you change the color of the pipe without changing the layer? Much like when drawing 2D line and you can select the line and change it's color properties. Sorry if this is a little confusing, I've been kind of out of it this week.

Thanks,

andsham

You can change it using display properties of the pipe.  Select a piece of pipe and right click and choose Edit Object Display.  Double click on the display representation that is bold.  You should now be in the Display properties for all pipe in your drawing.  Change the color column for contour from byblock to what ever color you want it to be.  Your pipe will now be on its original layer yet have a custom color.
