Breaking pipes and inserting couplings

In the old softdesk, it was possible to insert
couplings every 10' or 20' etc.  In BS4 we can break the pipe to the
desired lengths, but I need couplings to be inserted also.  Is there a way
to do this?

Thanks,
Mike

What type of system are you interested in? i am looking as developing No
Hub CI piping using Schedule 40 Flanged piping as the base - the plumbing
sizing module seems like a pain to go through especially when you don't end
up with accurate 3d fittings and piping out with which to layout sleeves.

anyway, with the flanged piping, if you modeled a half length coupling at
the end of each pipe and fitting, when you break a pipe, merge pipes, add
fittings you automatically match and end up showing a whole coupling. in
single line views, the flange indicator shows the break between parts. just
make sure you position the flange to the end of the pipe (no "overhang").

Modifying the coupling length if you have 2 or 4 band couplings is just a
question of revising aome dimensions on the connector and the fittings used.

My desire is that the couplings auto insert with the breaking of the pipe.
If I draw a 100 ft run of copper pipe, and I give the length as 20'. I don't
just want it to break every twenty feet, but also throw in the needed
coupling. I don't know if the arx file for breaking pipe can be modified to
add a coupling or not.

Roger,

I have a set of most no hub fittings that I made as
MV parts.  If you want a copy let me know.
