How to generate bottom or top of pipe using label curve.
Open up your style manager by going to the manage ribbon tab and clicking style manager. Navigate to your label curve styles and duplicate the standard curve style. From there set the new style to use property sets and then select pipe object and then bottom of pipe.
Now when lableling a pipe, make sure to switch to your new curve style to see your bottom of pipe information. It should be noted that out of the box, MEP displays bottom of pipe as bottom of insulation. Meaning if you add insulation to your pipe, it will display the bottom of insulation instead of the bottom of pipe. To change this you will need to open up the property set for pipeobject and edit the formula in the bottomofpipecalc.
Actually i'm newer in ACAD MEP , so can anybody post a .dwg file where used bottom of pipe.
Or, you could use the attached label curve style:
BOP:109'-7"
The attached dwg has the labelcurve style "LC_BOP_PGV" in it.
To use, simply open the file and saveas to a fixed location that will not change, then select the label curve(and only the label curve) so that the grip is lighted, then drag and drop the label curve onto a tool pallette. As long as you leave put the base style file, your tool palette-mounted BOP label curve will always be ready to be dropped into whatever file you wish to use it on.
Or, simply use the style manager to add the label curve to your template file and then use "labelcurveadd" at the command line, selecting the various label curve styles from the properties pallette drop down.
When in the attached file, open up style manager and expand "documentation objects". There you can click on the BOP label curve style and see how it is put together.
Familiarize yourself with property set definitions. Once you master these you can make any label you wish. My favorite label is the following:
1.5"DCW_BOP:109'-7"_INS:1"
For the above you have to use formulas and create your own custom property sets as well as property set data.
The file attached is Autocad MEP 2014. Regardless what Autocad Version you have, you can open the attachment with the latest version of Trueview and then "saveas" to your particular version. You can do this with any Autocad file.
