Autocad MEP Universal Connector pipe only?

is the universal connector in AutoCAD MEP for pipe only, or can you manipulated it to work for conduit and duct also? As in if you wanted to put the air handler in Plant 3d - could you use some type of property set data to connect duct & conduit as a "pipe" also? (& please don't just ask why I would want to do that... I'm trying to get the most out of my limited subscriptions & resources @ multiple sites...)

I didn't mean to sound arrogant with my final comment there - I apologize... & let me explain - some people only have MEP & some people only have Plant, I was hoping the MEP HVAC & cabletray people could attach a Universal connector for plants 3d equipment to see... I know I could attach a microthin piece of pipe to the connection point - but that seems cheesy and dangerous
