Add boundary to block while keeping atributes

Is it possible to add a boundary polyline to a block while keeping the blocks attributes? 

If so, is it possible to make the block create the boundary polyline automatically when being placed?

2. That would be a different block to use: it heist how would AutoCAD know when to add it or not all on its own?

Sounds like you are ready to upgrade all your blocks to the new DYNAMIC BLOCKS style: you design it to actively show or omit whatever you want while only dealing with one block.
