Is it possible to install the AEC Details library on ABS3? I get an error message when I
try.

Hi Joe -
Details should install fine with ABS3. What kind of error messages are you
getting?

It says something to the effect of "ADT 2(?!) isn't installed."

Here's a screen shot: http://www.zmm.com/notpublic/error.htm

I get the same message. I had ABS2 installed along with LDT3 (I have all the latest and greatest service packs for LDT3). I uninstalled ABS2 and installed ABS3 successfully (I kept LDT3). However, I am unable to install the Details portion because I don't have ADT2 installed?!? What's the work-around?!?

TIA,
Matt

Hi guys -

I just tried this again, and it still works on my machine (standard
developer excuse).

Are you running the details install from the ABS CD, or the ADT CD. The
installer on the ABS CD has been updated to handle ABS stuff?

Hi Guys -

I'll talk with our installer guru tomorrow and try to post back any
recommendations that he has.

Hi Guys -

Just wanted to let you know that we haven't forgotten about you. We've had a
couple of support calls about this as well, and we're trying to track down
the issue.

Sorry for the delay 😞

I tested this this morning on my system.
I had no trouble installing and running the AEC Details on ABS3

On a fresh system my install order had been
ADT3.3
Viz4
Arch Studio3
Uninstalled ADT3.3
ABS3
Revit 5
Aec Details 3

All of the above work for me.
Hope that helps someone.

The machine I'm having trouble with currently has LDD3 loaded and prior to installing ABS
had ADT3.3, ABM2 & ABE2. I just loaded AEC Details on an identical but clean (same
hardware & OS, but no adesk stuff) machine and it worked fine there.

There's apparently something remaining in the registry from the previous versions that's
messing with the installer when some of us try to install details. Anyone have a fix or
workaround yet?

Hello all,
We have had a complication with the installer for AEC Details on Autodesk
Building Systems. I am attaching a zip file which contains the fix for the
AEC Details installer.

To install AEC Details on Autodesk Building Systems 3 perform the following:
1. Copy the Details folder on the Autodesk Building Systems 3 install cd to
a local drive.
2. Download and unzip the attached file into the local Details folder from
above step. When prompted to overwrite the existing file, do so.
3. Run the setup.exe from the local Details folder.

How can we obtain the fix file other than through this discussion group since your attachment does not show up here if you are using IE to access the group?

Hi Rick -

I've sent a copy of the zip file to the email address you have listed in the
previous post. Please post back if you need it sent somewhere else.

Worked like a charm. Will that fix be documented in the knowledge base and made available
online somewhere?

Jason, I'm new to the building System 3 package and would like a copy of the fix in order to install details.

Thanks
