3D Orbit Command problem

Hi,

I am having a persistant and consistant problem with the 3D Orbit command.

My computer crashes consistantly when I try to use the command.

I used 3D Hidden and Shade views but now find it is happening in 2d Wireframe!!

My Dwgs contain alot of piping, vessels and 3D Objects and blocks.

File Sizes are approx 15 to 40 megs.

I have a Dell Precision T3600

64 Bit Windows 7 Professional

Intel Xeon CPU E5-1620 3.6 GHz

16 GB Ram

NVidia Quadro K4000 3 GB Memory Video card

AutoCAD MEP 2013 (2014 was a disaster when I loaded it had to go back)

I have sent some sample dwgs to AutoDESK and they found nothing wrong with the Files. I was told that it's a video card issue but then after getting in contact with their research department they told me it's not a video card issue? but have not suggested any resolution to my problem.

Is anybody having a similair issue or have any suggestions?

Regards

Paul

That's great specs on your machine, but depending on the size of your file, 3D orbit will bring about any machine to it's knees. I use Navis in conjunction with ACAD and you can get the Navis freedom viewer for the task. Export drawings to DWF and view in Navis for a good view. For viewing or working on the model in 3D, I clip portions of xrefs that contain info then isolate only the portions I want to work with. Do try to limit the vectors viewed before moving into 3D in ACAD. Once in 3D view, I can shade the elements then set back to wire frame before going back to plan view and removing the isolate objects command.
