import layer keystyles from excel into autocad MEP

I have search in some forums but i cant find it.

Is there a way to import layerkey style into autocad MEP 2012 from a excel file ?

Yes, but this is not built-in functionality. You would need to use the .NET API to do this.

I resolved it this way.

 

1. make a table in excel 

2. save this in a csv file.

3. open the csv file in nodepad and change the ; in a comma.

4. copy this all the layer keys from notepad and open an *.ly file from autocad MEP in notepad.

5. delete the excisting layerkeys and change them with your new ones.

6. save the file in a *.ly file. for example newlayerkeys.ly

7. in autocad MEP command "-Aeclyimport" and select your new *.ly file.
