connection error

Trying to connect 1" copper brazed pipe to reheat coil get "unable to create
part in desired size needed" Also when I try to insert a 1.5 flanged valve
do not get any connection fittings. Could I have some prefernce or setting
turned off?

Piping preferences not set. You must designate defaults under Piping preferences.

I set the pipe preferences to brazed.
