Making 3d Blocks

I've created a 3d block using solids. I create the block viewing the xy plane, (a floor plan view). When I insert the block for some reason it is rotated 90degrees and the view showing is the left face. I want the block to come in on the xy plane, (top view).

Any suggestions on how to correct this and why it is happening?

What UCS did you have active when you made the block? It is a very good idea
to have WCS active when making a block definition. Your viewpoint doesn't
affect the creation of the block, but a UCS sure will! 😉

If I did not have it on WCS, can I modify it to be, or do I need to recreate the entire block?

Insert an instance of the block, orient it correctly for WCS, explode it,
verify in WCS, block it. Or, RefEdit it and try to rotate it back into the
orientation you need. (I prefer #1, myself.)
