Duct Catalog Error?

When trying to add ductwork I get the following error:

"No duct with the selected shape and connection type exists in the current catalog. You must change either the shape or connection type, or switch to a catalog that contains this combination before you can add duct."

I've regenerate all my catalogs and still get the same error.

Does anyone know why this pops up and how to fix it?

That probably happend when after working with
piping/plumbing, you've tried to add ductwork. By some reason, the add duct
command is looking in preferences set for piping and obviously, it does not find
anything suitable for ductwork. To circumvent, set ductwork preferences and then
try to add duct. Happend same to me.

Are you just trying to add duct in space or are you trying to connect to
something specific. What happens when you do a catalog test? What is your
current catalog?

I created a new Fan Coil Block MVpart. Connections are Supply Duct, Return Duct, CHW in, CHW out, & Condensate Drain. Therefore I have ductwork & piping connections.

I get the error regardless if I'm trying to connect to the fan coil unit or just trying to draw a straight piece of duct in space. I was able to get it to work one time by matching properties to an existing piece of duct. What that did or why it started to work beats me. If I add duct to the Fan coil it worked. BUT, when I tried to add piping I got the error once again. After closing it out the piping did work, but adding ductwork would not work again.

Catalog used is:
Ductwork:
C:\Program Files\Autodesk Building Systems 3\AECB Catalogs 3\Duct US Imperial\Duct US Imperial.apc
Piping:
C:\Program Files\Autodesk Building Systems 3\AECB Catalogs 3\Pipe US Imperial\Pipe US Imperial.apc

Hi Jody,

There is a known problem here is you draw pipes and
ducts in the same drawing.

The pipe command can change the default connection
type for the duct.

So if you for example draw a pipe and change the
preferences in pipeadd to use 'Threaded' pipes the next time you want to draw a
duct, the default connection type have changed (or isn't set).

Just go into preferences (the third icon in
ductadd) and in the Parts tab, just choose the connection type you want to
use.

Hope this helps

Yep, that's it. Sigh! What a pain.
