problems w/ 2006 after uninstalling 2005

We have the network program versions here rather than individual. Earlier this week I uninstalled all my Autodesk 2005 products from my computer as we are getting 2007 soon and 3 versions of all the programs seemed just too much. Since then I have been having the following 2 problems with 2006:

1. When I select an AECC point that the consultant put on the wrong layer and then I go over to my properties pallet to change the layer, it (the properties pallet) doesn't see the point(s) that I have selected. Never had that problem before.

2. When I bring up a Terrain Model Explorer, it is totally blank inside - just empty columns visible. The TEM is totally non-functional.

Originally I thought this was a problem with just this drawing from an outside consultant, but I opened an old drawing that I knew didn't have these problems, and discovered it is a program problem.

Did you try to repair the 2006 installation after uninstalling 2005?

Sound like you need to go to Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs and select
Repair or Reinstall for LDT2006.

Hey misstux;

Plus you may need to follow this Knowledge Base article from Start to
Finish;
http://tinyurl.com/fwjse

Yes it seems to be relegated to the LT product, but the rest of the Products
can be served just as well by performing this set of instructions also.

Well, I ran the repair. The problems are gone. However, I lost ALL of my customization. Hopefully when the other tech comes back from lunch, he can help me recover it.

I hope (for your sake) a new set of Problems haven't replaced the previous
ones.

Hopefully there's a set of your customizations that have been saved
somewhere on the network, or at least on your PC.

If you had a set of customizations saved somewhere "safe" as a MNS file from
2K5 you could use that through Menuload. You are able to specify a MNS file
through that avenue.

Been there - done that a short while ago.

This is documented in the README file. Anytime you have multiple
AutoCAD-based products installed, and you UNinstall one of them, you
must run a repair or reinstall the remaining products.

Why? Did you customize the stock acad files, like "acad.cui"?
A repair will not modify/delete user files.
