curved pipe runs

I am attempting to create a pipe run by using a polyline. The run is for a storm sewer that contains curves (arcs) and when I define the pipe run and show it on my road profile the distances aren't showing up correctly. Basically it is reading the distance from one end of the arc, across the chord, to the other end of the arc. Anybody have any solutions to this?

Only solution I know is a bunch of PIs with structure set to null. Won't be
perfect.

I hate curved pipes, but they are better in Civil 3d.

And Land Lizard, an easy method of adding them to the Pipe Run is to 1st
draw the CL along the radius you need. Then use the Multiple command to
place Nodes along the arc at the interval you wish. Connect the Nodes with a
polyline, and you're most of the way to getting what you need. You can then
take advantage of Define Pipe Run>Define By Polyline.

I would look that dimension up in the Pipe Mfg. catalog - you can find quite
a few of them on-line to help with this.

YOU COULD TRY A THIRD PARTY SOFTWARE CALLED PIPEX. USED IT MYSEL AND IT WORKS GREAT FOR CURVED PIPES AND IT IS COMPATIBLE WITH LAND DESKTOP.
