Terrmodel to AutoCad Lines

Hello! Anybody converting from Terremodel to Autocad? I'm trying to get line types like the Terramodel ones. See enclosed png. This TM line type called Sewer and MH. It automatically sets the manhole at the end of the polyline and then inserts the text S and equally spaces it between manholes. Any ideas are of course greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

If you open the Acad.lin file you will see linetypes that contain text. Copy
one of those to the end of the section and replace the text with an S.

To find which acad.lin you are using use (findfile "acad.lin").

Something like this:

*S_LINE,Gas line ----S----S----S----S----S----S--
A,.5,-.2,["S",STANDARD,S=.1,R=0.0,X=-0.1,Y=-.05],-.25

And there are LIN files up on the Customer Files DG also, already setup for
either Metric Linetypes (Laurie Comerford placed his set there back a couple
years ago), or Imperial Linetypes (I placed my set there at roughly the same
time).

You can easily find both of them by using "civil linetypes" - w/o quotes -
in a Search of that DG Buick87GN.

I determined quite a while ago, that the Lines?Curves>Special Lines made way
too many "pieces" for my tastes. 😮

And for the Manholes (and other types of these Blocks in AutoCAD), you might
want to think about using Dynamic Blocks - see the attached 2K7 dwg file if
you've got 2K7 at your firm?

I didn't have 2K6 when I created that DynBlock, so that's why I mentioned
the release data for you.

But Allen, he won't get those little circles for manholes.

Maybe I presumed too much?

Hi Guys: Maybe I'm missing something here. Ww are converting from Terramodel to LDT 2007, NO CIVIL 3D. Terramodel's sewer linetype and other similar lines creates a manhole at each point in your polyline, adds the "S" text and centers it and the line segments between the manoles or points on the line. (See my png in opening post) In Acad, I can' t seem to do this. Allen's tip is ok for just lines with text, but I was trying to replicate what we can do in TM with adding manholes.

Can't be done in stock AutoCAD, without a custom ARX app.

So I guess I'm out of luck unless there is someone out there that knows how to make a custom ARX app. to do this line type.

And I'll just reiterate just a little in these regards...

Since the only constant is change, then there's all those separate entities
to be erased (in the AutoCAD dwg file) when the utility being designed goes
through yet another revision in horizontal location

Which is my main reasoning for developing and using custom linetypes.

Please.see the attached Zip file Buick87GN.

And BTW, Ebay has a fairly good selection of those cars you have as your

Hi Don: The wife and I both love our original stock 87 Grand National with T-tops. It's such a blast to drive and blow away Mustangs. Thanks for Ebay ref.
