Point attibutes and Land Desktop capabilites.

I need to find out the point attribute capabilities within Autodesk Land Desktop or Civil3d.  We have been asked to provide points with attributes to a client. Example: We go out in the field and with our GPS unit shoot a culvert. In the data collector we input "culv" as the code, for culvert. then an attribute prompt is given for size, material, condition, etc.  How can we get the attributes to come into autocad with the point information to assign layers symbols and attribute data?   I am familiar with description keys and have been working with them for years.  We are just now going to start collecting attribute data and I am not sure if what we are wanting to do can be accomplished without some type of 3rd party software.  If 3rd party software is required, that is fine also. Recommendations would be apprecitated!   I know this question has been asked numerous times but I havent seen any replies to the question.
