    Pipe inside buildings

I am going to lay out pipes inside of buildings. The pipes are all drawn in 3D with other AutoCAD software. I need to be able to create points at each bend and at different items such as valves, hangers, connections, joints etc. Some of the pipe runs will be vertical. Is there a method of doing this using LDDT?

You can manually place points at any time in LDD/LDC.  Just remember that a surface has a hard time with points that are directly above each oter or totally verticle planes.  It's a common practice to slightly offset a top point by a hundreth or so to get a "verticle" plane.  Also, points are relient on what user UCS you are in, and "should" (usually) only be placed when in the World UCS.

Have you gone through the tutorials for points yet?  That will help you with all the different point placement tools.
