LDT Surfaces using 3dpolylines

Sorry for the double post, I responded to a thread above that no one may be
following any longer.
I am having a problem with LDT 2007. I am trying to create a surface
using 3d polys by picking them as contours. Won't work. I was going to
download the LDT SP1 for 2007, but it says to use the SP1A for Civil 3D
2007. I did that, but the surface thing still does not recognize the 3d
poly's. Any ideas?

Thanks, Tim

Select the 3D Polylines as Breaklines and create the surface that way.

Hey Allen,

Did they take the functionality of being able to pick all of the contours
and 3dpolys at the same time away? I don't have any need to go through the
extra steps of making breaklines, and deleting them, updating them, etc.
every time. I just create my breaklines with 3d poly's, add vertices,
contour them, and then pick the whole thing to be sure I get breaks where I
need them. If anything changes, I just pick all the contours and breaklines
ALL AT ONCE... ehhemm did I yell? sorry.... and wham bam, thank you maam, I
build a new tin.

If they did take this functionality away, why?

Thanks, Allen.

Ok, Frustration level 10. I went ahead and made the 3d poly's Breaklines,
and still get nothing but a 0 elevation surface when I build it. So, if I
already have SP1A which was required if you are using Civil3D, does it not
fix this very annoying bug? Or, is it possible to go ahead and load SP1? Or,
does SP1 even fix this problem? Wouldn't this be something that would get
caught the first time anyone ever tried using the new version?
I'm aggravated. It must be Beer O'Clock somewhere.

Tim:

SP1A for civil3D2007 is completely different from sp1 for LDT2007.

Assuming that SP1A is already installed for C3D2007, install ldt2007_sp1.exe
followed by cd2007_sp1.exe.

Beer O'Clock in Europe I believe.

Thanks Drew,

Amazingly enough, I discovered that by fully READING the readme file that
comes with the service pack, large amounts of useful information can be
attained. I went back and loaded SP1. Hopefully, it doesn't screw SP1A for
C3D, because I did do them out of order.

Actually, my time sheet says 68 hours for this week. It's Beer Thirty here!

Thanks for the help, Tim
