I know. I don't think it matters if it's not mentioned.

I notice that there seems to be no "order of installation" mentioned in that
ReadMe John.
Any further help from your reputable reseller, on this issue I mentioned?

Raster Design may be the culprit. If you installed it or updated it last,
LDT would need to be updated again. This is from the RD 07 SP1 Readme file.
Installation Information for Side-By-Side Installs
If you have additional AutoCAD-based products installed on your computer,
you may need to apply additional service packs to ensure all the products
continue to work properly after you install the Autodesk Raster Design 2007
Service Pack 1.
These include the following service packs:
a.. AutoCAD 2007 SP1
b.. Autodesk Architectural Desktop 2007 SP1
c.. Autodesk Map 3D 2007 SP3
d.. Autodesk Land Desktop 2007 SP2
e.. Autodesk Civil 3D 2007 SP3
For example, if you have Autodesk Map 3D 2007 installed on the same computer
as Autodesk Raster Design 2007, you must install both Autodesk Map 3D 2007
SP3 and Autodesk Raster Design 2007 SP1 to ensure that both products
continue to work properly.

Thanks for the replies...
Video card is a Quadro FX-1500, driver is current.
The machine was clean, OS only when Civil 3D 2007 and associated companion
programs were installed. All service packs were installed at that time.
Raster 2007 was installed a couple of days later. A month or so later we
installed LDDT 2005, due to some client compatibility issues.
There seems to be no pattern or specific commands associated with the
crashes. They occur randomly, as many as 4 times daily, but only in Land. If
we run the Map 3D extension, there are no problems.
