What version? That is a lisp error indicating it expected a string and didn't find it. My first guess would be the command macro in the menu has a typo in it.

2004. I'm not sure how to go about fixing that.

If you could post the Land mnu file (I don't recall the exact name used for this product) I may be able to help. Also, can you copy-paste what the text window looks like after it errors.

If you could help that would be great...

This is the what happens when I use the command to label line by points:

Unable to find or create project path <c:\land projects 2004\”\align\>.
Press any key to continue...

Command: bad argument type: stringp nil

Also have this error when the drawing loads:

Loading AecCivilAln...
Unable to find or create project path <c:\land projects 2004\”\align\>.
Press any key to continue... *Cancel*

You don't have a valid Project setup. LDD requires the use of projects to save it's data in.Create a project, copy your drawing to that project's dwg folder, the next time you open the drawing it should ask if you want to associate the drawing to the project, answer Yes. The LDD commands should then work correctly.

I appreicate you taking the time to help because is very frustrating.

I tried putting the drawing in the dwg folder under the project directory...still have the same error after associating the drawing with the project.

The same error being the stringp nil error, or the unable to locate project error? If it's the stringp one, I would still need you to post the mnu file being used for the menu. It's been years since I've had a menu from that vintage LDD, so I just don't recall what, if any, issues were associated with it.

Still have both errors.  I tried re-installing LDD.  When I try to use the "Label line by points"

Unable to find or create project path <c:\land projects 2004\”\align\>.
Press any key to continue...
Command: bad argument type: stringp nil

How do  I determine which mnu file it is?

This is actually looking more like a project, or lack of one, issue. Without being able to see your PC and setup I'm afraid I won't be able to do much else.

Some final things to verify.....

1. You have a drawing open which has been saved as a part of a project.

2. You can perform other LDD tasks in the drawing (draw a line by bearing and distance, or set a point)

3. Your units are set to decimal for length, and either decimal degrees or deg/min/sec for angles.

If none of these help, I'm sorry I wasn't able to help you.

Good luck!

I get this error when I am sent my own files back that have been opened in more current versions of ACAD, 2004 now has a beard but it still rocks!

get the problem dwg open in 2004 and export it to 2000. This should fix it right up.
